Welcome to the wonderful and beautiful season of spring. I know some of you are very tired and short on sleep because it is kidding season . Lots of mama goats giving birth to those precious kids. 

Our small farm is located in California. We have had a beautiful wet winter and our green grass has exploded. I am very thankful for the wonderful green grass.

Our goats are a bit spoiled and would much rather eat hay than the plentifil green grass. I have made changes to their feeding regiment and have cut back significantly on their available hay. They are forced to eat the fresh green grass when they are outside rather than just laying in it. Here in California it is only green  for a short time before the dreaded and horrible hot dry season rolls around. We have to take advantage of what mother nature gives us , our pocket book is thankful.
