Through the years we have had various experiences with our goat herd and Christmas. One year our beloved Nubian doe Lucy tried to eat and swallow a couple of small Christmas lights. Luckily I managed to pry them out of her mouth before she swallowed. There have also been many mishaps with fir garlands that were strung along the fence. After the goats got through there was just some wire and red bows. The best memory of goats and Christmas is when our Nubian buck Puddles had his first encounter with Christmas lights. We had strung many color Christmas lights on the goat barns. Every evening we would plug them in and Puddles whose stall was at the front of the barn would stand on his gate and eagerly awaiting the magical lights that were about to come on. He loved to look at those Christmas lights ! Puddles would stand for hours watching with amazement at the pretty colors of light adoring his goat barn.
Goats and Christmas ......................its an amazing thing.
