Our soft pack saddles for goats and horses are designed for maximum comfort for the animals. We use a solid back pad because this allows for better protection of the spine and more evenly distributes the weight. In the past we have tried a different style with two pads and a space in the middle but in our own experience we had difficulty with tree branches and other debris collecting in there .

We at B.Iles Harness have a herd of five pack goats and two mini horse packers. Our goat herd consists of every size from a Nigerian Dwarf up to two large Boer cross wethers and every size in between.  Every product made by B.Iles Harness is thoroughly tested and re tested to insure proper useability.  Our products are made with fully padded breast, girth, and breeching straps and one inch back pads ( except for the Dwarf and Pygmy they have half inch back pad).  We make soft packs that are designed for the lighter loads , if larger heavy loads are desired then we suggest the adjustable pack saddle with a wooden tree to protect the spine and health of the goat. Soft packs are wonderful for small day hikes and picnics etc.... Our Nigerian dwarf doe, Sweet Pea carries a small load of pine cones in her pack to add to the firewood pile , however the Boer cross wethers use their adjustable pack saddles with a wooden tree to carry chunks of firewood. 

Our soft packs are made to be durable and tough , but the most important is comfortable for the working animals.
